Ashley Wilburn, a native of Hagerstown, Maryland, proudly is a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, where she completed her secondary education. With a passion for family law, Ashley's current legal practice focuses on various aspects of family-related matters. She focuses a majority of her work on divorce cases, alimony disputes property distribution in marital relationships, child custody battles, child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, enforcement and post-divorce issues, step-parent and private party adoptions, as well as concerns regarding child welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning issues, such as wills, trusts, probate and estate administration along with commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a mediator appointed by the court since the year 2019. She helps parties resolve their disputes without the necessity of litigation or court involvement. Ashley mediates private matters and also court-appointed mediation for those who want to avoid court processes and litigation.

Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. Then, she pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. During her time at law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the prestigious Western New England Law Review, showcasing her commitment to legal research and scholarship.

Ashley began her clerkship after completing her law degree. She was employed by renowned jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She had the pleasure of working as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. Then, in 2014 she returned to her hometown of Hagerstown to be a clerk for Honorable M. Kenneth Long at the Washington County Circuit Court, expanding her knowledge of the local legal landscape. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. As an associate attorney. Her primary focus in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters which involved child welfare. Ashley's dedication to her work played a significant role in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at hands their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice transcended her legal career as she was an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to raise awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law - divorce child support, custody and guardianships, as well in estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxies - and mediation.

Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC, in 2023, with the goal of providing an individual approach to each client's needs.
